Flamenco and Clowning workshop with the incredible artist Paulina Lenoir!

Paulina Lenoir is a designer turned award-winning clown, founder of the cult cabaret night Fool’s Moon, and creator of the acclaimed show Puella Eterna.

In this workshop, we will explore the crossover between flamenco and clowning through the search for our duende, a mystical goblin said to inhabit the body in moments of heightened artistic expression. You will not be learning traditional flamenco. Instead, you’ll be invited to dip your toes into a clown-infused, flamenco-inspired pool of playful experimentation.

Duende mask-making workshop for the whole family!

In Flamenco, Duende refers to a deep, almost mystical force of inspiration that goes beyond technical skill. It’s the raw emotion that performers transmit when they sing or dance in Flamenco. Duende means goblin, a magical being, which captures the playful, mysterious spirit we’ll be exploring in this mask-making workshop. In it you and your family will work creatively together to design your own unique Duende mask. Once we’ve made our masks, we’ll teach you a selection of flamenco dance steps that you can perform while channeling your inner Duende! Come and join us for an hour of creativity, craft, movement, and fun!
